Well we've covered the history of shaving, but we're all modern men right? We all need a good shave, some of us every day, some of us once a week, but when that morning comes, what razor does one go for?

The Modern Safety Razor

The age old rivalry between Gillette and Schick (wilkinson sword) means that we have an ever changing and sophisticated choice of razors. They all have their finer aspects, and of course you can always go for the pack of 10 single blade disposables, however the better the razor the finer the shaving experience.
There are hundreds of different razors, but ultimately it comes down to a choice between the follow razors:

Gillette Mach 3

This is a triple bladed razor with a metal handle and rubber grip. It includes a sort of 'suspension' that means the blade can move along the contours of the face. If you opt for the Mach 3 'Turbo' variety, you are treated to a strip of lubrication on the razor blades. Mach 3 standard blades and Mach 3 turbo blades are interchangeable as the basic razor appears to be the same.

If you opt for the M3 Power you will get a razor with an ultrasonic vibration that is designed to attract more hairs. 

Gillette Fusion

The Gillette Fusion is the worlds first 5 bladed razor. The idea behind this is that shaving will take less strokes as the 5 blades will cut more hairs, more closely. Again the Fusion Power features ultrasonic vibrations.

Wilkinson Sword Quatro

This is a 4 bladed razor, and before the fusion had the most blades out of any razor. The quatro offers a very easy shave, and is perfect for those who like to shave quickly. It includes a holder which allows you to store blades safely.
